Cecelia Ahern is young Irish writer. She is only 29 years old have already written seven great books and won some Awards. She is the one who wrote PS:I love you. She is the co-creator and producer of the comedy Samantha Who. She had sung too.
Some informations:
Of course, I have read this wonderful book in french! The all book is written by letters, mails, sms, and small things that you write during the lessons at school. There is no narration.
The story last since the two protagonist are nine years old until they have grey hair!
A short summary:
It is a story about two kids who are best friends, Rosie and Alex. They did all the stupidities possible and unbelievable. They grew up together in Dublin. But unfortunately Alex had to move on to America because of his father. But they got in touch with mails and letters. They tried to see each other but almost every time there were a problem with flight, or work or girl/boyfriend. So it is sad because we, the readers, know they were in love but they didn't and got married with the bad people and it finished always by a divorce. But at the end of the book we are amazed by something I don't want to tell because it sells the all thing and that isn't funny !
My opinion:
I really liked reading that book not only because the story is nice but also because every massages you read, you are always surprised. I like they way is written too. No narration is easier, faster and we can imagine how they are, how it looks like.
It also made me think about choices we do every day and how it can change your life. It is crazy how every choices you take is important, even the most small.

Good job, Cécile!
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that you relate that to your life and experience. Some things you need to correct:
- years old and has already...
- haS sung
- French
- the whole book is made up of letters...
- the story lastS since the 2 protagonistS (although I think this sentence is a bit awkward. I would rather say "the story starts when the 2... and lasts until they have...)
- possible and unbelievable stupid things (stupidity = being stupid)
- kept in touch
- but they didn't ??? tell each other
- it always finishes (general fact)
- because you are always surprised at every mEssage you read(singular and we can't read massages)
- the way it is...
- every choice you make... the smallest.
